The Cloud for the Clueless
Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 Cloud computing technologies have been around for a while (Nexus has been using cloud technology for years), and although the cloud has been getting a lot of press recently we’re finding that too many people still do not really understand what the cloud is about. So we decided to provide a brief explanation and breakdown the different cloud models.
Today the term cloud generally means ubiquitous access. Most cloud services are accessible via a web browser or app; so you have the same level of access regardless of your location or even device. Clouds are offered in several varieties depending on control versus efficiency, and the service that the cloud is providing.

Communicating On the Go Just Got Easier
Monday, January 9th, 2012 December 2011 marks Microsoft’s one year anniversary of releasing their newest Unified Communications (UC) suite, Lync 2010. If you aren’t already familiar; Lync 2010 is being positioned by Microsoft as the holy grail of UC, capable of replacing expensive PBX systems for a fraction of the price. Our friends in Redmond celebrated the birthday of their communications masterpiece by releasing mobile clients for 3 major mobile device platforms, including Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, and their own Windows Phone 7.
This is a big deal.

Spam Down: But Keep Your Guard Up
Thursday, August 11th, 2011 Spam has decreased dramatically since this time last year and while security experts are citing various reasons, one thing they all seem to agree on is not to let your guard down.
Sure several notorious botnets are out of the picture and authorities are cracking down on hackers as well, but as security evolves so do the threats. At the same time we are experiencing a decline in botnet spam we are also seeing an increase in other malicious internet security attacks. This may be explained by simple economics; it could be that scammers are busy deploying a more profitable scamming campaign as you read this.
